The park was reconstructed by the municipality of Sofia in order to improve the local living environment and provide suitable conditions for rest, recreation, and sport. Actions included restoring the lake by reconstructing the bank, restoring flower gardens by adding 80 000 new flowers, and restoring green areas. (Ref. 1; Ref. 2; Ref. 3)

The intervention was initiated and funded by the Municipality of Sofia. The project was designed by the firm Project Consult0B.D. Ltd. (Проект Консулт0Б.Д. ЕООД) and overseen by VML Consult Ltd. (ВМЛ Консулт ЕООД). It was carried out by the firms Infratrans Consult Ltd. (Инфратранс консулт АД), MB Engineering 2001 Ltd. (МБ Инженеринг 2001 ЕООД), Consortium Detska Radost (Консорциум Детска радост), Crystal 2007 Ltd. (Кристал 2007 ЕООД), and Miliana-91 Ltd. (Милиана-91 ЕООД).
