The leisure park will be 6,200 m² and includes a children's playground, a space for seniors, the creation of green space for recreation and park protection with a perimeter of bushes and trees. It will be a continuous green zone of recreation and leisure with numerous access points[1]."People will be able to enjoy this place that is an added value to the community and an investment in the quality of life of our citizens"[2]. Creation of new green areas

Project objectives

According to the Mayor of Sintra, Basilio Horta, the new park will serve to [2]: - give families a leisure space with green spaces; - be an investment in the quality of life for the citizens of Sintra; - create a recreation space for different community groups (e.g. children and senior citizens). [1] - the NBS also aims at increasing urban green space accessibility for all residents, with the creation of car parking spaces and pedestrian paths.

Implementation activities

The new space will have green areas framed with bushes and trees, creating a continuous green space for recreation and leisure in an area surrounded by buildings. A central plateau is provided with equipment, consisting of an exercise area for seniors and adults, and a playground for children. The work also includes routes and accesses, contemplating internal routes and peripheral rides. In the surrounding space there will be car parks, benefiting greatly not only the residents, but also facilitating the parking for users who eventually come from further afield to enjoy this park. The work in progress also includes the installation of a watering system, water supply, drainage and drainage network.[1][1][2][3]
