A new park was created through funding from the ERDF, as part of initiative “Building a Green and Accessible Urban Environment in Plovdiv”. The aim of the project was to provide a place for recreation and to help minimize the density of grey infrastructure in the central part of the city. Activities involved planting trees, as well as many shrubs and flowers. (Ref. 1)

Implementation activities

139 trees were planted from various species, as well as many shrubs and flowers (Ref 1; Ref. 2). "More than 100 large trees of native species, hundreds of shrubs and other suitable vegetation will turn the place into a green oasis among the new residential complexes and a natural link to the already socialized park "Lauta", said the mayor of "Eastern" Nikolay Chunchukov. Attractive children's play equipment, alleys, benches, lighting and irrigation system are provided" (Ref. 3). - The project was designed by a firm based in Plovdiv, called Art Plan (Ref. 4). The construction work was carried out by the construction firm Запрянови-03 (Ref. 4; Ref. 7). - The idea of the park was initiated and partially implemented by the Municipality of Plovdiv as part of its operational programme Creating a Green and Accessible Urban Environment in Plovdiv. This programme was financed by the ERDF through the national Operational Programme Regional Development (Ref. 1; Ref. 4; Ref. 5).
