The NBS constitutes the annual planting of new trees, bushes, perennials, vines and flowers across Bialystok. The initiative is designed and implemented by City Hall and aims at improving the image of the urban area, and to provide a pleasant environment for the residents and tourists [1].

Project objectives
1) Improving the image of the city;
2) Providing a pleasant environment for the residents and tourists in Białystok;
3) Increasing the number of species present in the city;
4) Green management and governance [1].
Implementation activities
1) In 2015 planting 318 trees, over 4,000 bushes and nearly 2,000 pieces of perennial plants and vines;
2) In 2016 planting 207 trees, over 5,500 bushes and about 4,000 other plants (including perennials, vines);
3) 12 containers with apple trees in front of the City Hall building, flowerbeds around the trees;
4) Planting 300 perennial plants at Lipowa Street;
5) Planting 120 pieces of barberry bushes and 100 pieces of perennial plants at Sopocki square;
6) Planting shrubs (250 pieces) and perennials (600 pieces) in the vicinity of the pond at Park Planty;
7) Planting perennials (1000 pcs) at Central Park;
8) Planting perennials (500 pcs) at Dziekonska Park;
9) Planting perennials (300 pcs) at Malmeda Square [1].
